Are Norvel engines any good?
I'm looking for an engine for 3D flying where getting the most power and the least amount of weight are paramount. I've narrowed my search down to the Norvel 25 BigMig and the OS 25 LA. On paper, the Norvel wins hands down. It's both considerably lighter and more powerful than the OS. However, I have many years experience using OS engines and I know they're very well built. I've never even heard of Norvel engines until a few days ago. Are they well built engines?

grampi....
The .40 was reviewed a few months ago and got rave reviews. The guy I told you that was flying the .25 in his mini swears by it. He says it's a verry reliable motor and they are also supposed to be 20% more fuel efficient than any other engine of the same displacement...

RE: Are Norvel engines any good?
I am very happy with my norvels (I own two .25's) the only thing is they are a little finicky(sp) about oil content. If I use powermaster or another low oil fuel on a hot summers day they overheat and flame out and the worst moment. They are VERY popular in combat, I am sure if you ask the same question in their forum, they can give you more information.
I hope that helps!
