Default new HS XR-1 owner. Suggestions?

OK, I know the XR-1 is no 3-d machine, nor the XRB that I've flown. I picked one up REALLY cheap, and want to know where to go from here. I'm cleaning up the head to make it nice and limber as per other posts, but what do I do next?
I see that helihobby.com has lots of upgrades. Can't really spend the $80 for a whole new swashplate assy, but don't mind spend a bit for smaller items.
What's the consensus? What woould you add 1st? LIPO will have to wait a bit. I have heard too many stories of burning out the tail motor, though the authority motor by helihobby sounds like a good idea. I see a bearing coller they put in their kits. Anyone tried that? How about the swashplate ball?
I know it will never be a CP machine, but would like to clean up for stable flight as economically as possible. Want to start teaching my son.

OK, flown it about 10 times. Not bad once the head loosened up. Hovering well. I'm not terribly new to RC heli's, just been a while. What motor is in this? Looks like a 370. Anyone have experience with minor upgrades? Can't really get enough trim on the tail rotor. GIving full left doesn't do it. I even powered it up with trim full right, then I can almost get enough left after light goes green and I move trim to full left.
Is this a setting on the mix control?

Well, another update. I work at a hobby shop in Tulsa OK. Have been flying the XR1 (Aerohawk) for a while now, and it's really working better with a few very small improvements. Of course, now my tail-motor has died.

I called Helihobby to see about setting up our store as a retailer for their upgrades since we've sold a few of these. Called on Tuesday of last week. I was told, "I will email you". I filled out their online request for dealer info. I emailed them directly. None of which has gotten a response a full week later.
I called again today and was told, "your email will be answered when someone can get to it". So a week is not long enough to "get to it"?
Does anyone have personal experience in purchasing from them? Are they this lazy with retail purchases too? I guess I'll just take my business elsewhere, but thought since I have seen them post here, and they are advertisers here they would support the market. Oh well.

Hi Jim
I saw your thread with no responses, theres a lot on the Aerohawk (=XR-1) @ rcgroups.com, along with a guy thats developed a few good upgrades including brushless cd rom adapter "geoffrey109" is is user. Theire site is down right now or Id give you links to some good Aerohawk threads, but just go to the "microheli" forum and do a search for aerohawk and you should find all the good stuff. How are you liking the Areohawk now? Do you fly any other choppers to compare? raidentech.com can get you some parts too for repairs
