Cajeunemi,
Did you weight your plane?

I am surprised to see how the Menz 22x8 pulls out from hover! Imagine what the DA-50 can do on Mejzlik 23x8, MSC 22x8 or Menz 24x8!

I am going to use 20 oz for gas and 16 oz for oil in my Edge with Kokam lithium pack, 340mah 7.4V without volt regulator to keep it light.

Well guys mine is 19lbs even. The DA pulls it great. I have put on a 23 x8 mej and spun up a 24x8 nx just to see. So far I am leaning toward the 22x8 or the 23x8. I would like to try a 10 pitch just to see how it would respond.

cajunhemi,

If you want to try a 10 pitch prop, give the Bolly wood 22 x 10 a try on your DA. So far, that's the best one I've come up with. I like it over the Mejzlik 22 x 10, and Menz S 22 x 10.

I believe you be happier if you stay in the 8 inch pitches. If you haven't tried an MSC 22-8, you should. The difference in the blade design will immediately be obvious. So will the improved pull at all rpm ranges. Many have doubts about my sanity on this, but I know the plane handles better in the turns with the MSC prop.

As you have already found out, it's not worth the effort worrying about the final weight of the 28% Wild Hares. They fly very, very good up to around 21 pounds. Above 18 pounds the plane knows she's fat but doesn't care, she's going to look and fly good anyway.

I hear ya Silversurfer. One day I am going to get a CF wing tube and lighten up some of my extra's in the plane. I tend to over engineer all mounting brackets and such. But nothing comes loose in my planes. Who sells MSC props? Just wondering how they compare to the Menz.

Go to www.aircraftinternational.com for a great selection of props, MSC and others. Click on "Catalog" at the top of the screen, then "Propellers" on the left-hand side of the screen.

Edit: As always, I suggest doing a search in RCU before you post any question, most have already been covered in previous posts. Thanks.

why a 22x8 and not a 24 x8 that you hear everyone go to? Do you feel the msc is a better choice than a menz or bolly? last question I seen on A.I. they have a menz standard and a menz ultra what is the difference?
