I've not heard of any wing failures... It's a very well built aircraft so I'd have to say if it did happen it was an odd occurence or there was flutter involved due ot inproper linkage...

There are many reports of wing failures on the H9 Sukhoi, mine included[]
Search the Giant Scale forum and the ask Mike McConville forum. eg. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_22...tm.htm#2248911
H9 has changed the design of the wing on the newer Extra and Edge.
i would not fly the Suk with out doing the necessary repairs - this involves cutting the wings open and doubling up the shear webs.
the wing employs I-beam construction and it WILL bite u! As mentioned , The newer H9 have gone to conventional D-tube construction.
There is a thread on how to do the repairs.

With some of the maneuvers I have seen pilots fly to accomplish the WOW effect, I would say yes. I saw a guy do a power on dive, chop the throttle then did a wall to a torque roll. He then did his thing low and slow, went balastic then did a flat spin with power. TO me the wings SHOULD come off!
