Bel Ray H1r
I recently got a new Zdz 50 NG and as Rcs recomended got some Belray.
I also have a broken inZdZ 60 that was running a Klotz mix but rather than use 2 cans Ive been running them both on the Belray.
Now Ive found that my usual starting routine is causing problems.
( Ignition on, Choke on flip till it burps, Choke off = starts )
The Zdz 60 now has a tendency to backfire if I use the above start...sooo I thought that the mixture must be off and re did it all.
Still does it.
I see a thread that H1r has octane boosters in it any one got any thoughts???? Could it be the octane booster.????

RE: Bel Ray H1r
andyt; I have used Bel-Ray MC-1 for years without problems. Only recently have I been reading about guys using the H1r. Prior to my change to Bel-Ray, I had been using Klotz or Amsoil but didn't have any re-setting problems. Really, the only reason I made the change was my local Harley dealer has it. I'm glad I did, and I'll stay with the MC-1.........

""I see a thread that H1R has octane boosters"",,, that was me, I was told by Bell Ray that H1R has an octane booster,,, but the MC1 does not have the booster,,, I have a MVVS, and MVVS instructs the use of high octane,,, I suggest not to use H1R if your motor is recomended to use low octane, then use MC1.

RE: Bel Ray H1r
update on the octane booster,,,
see page 3 in the link, on page 3 you will see a blue-highlighted Email from BellRay, saying they do NOT use octane booster any-more,,, the Email says that it was MC-1 that had the octane booster, I was told on the phone it was H1R that had the octane booster,,, what-ever, it doesn't matter any more because they stopped using it,,, unless you have an older quart of oil,,,

the guy at BellRay told me that H1R burns cleaner than MC-1, because H1R is made to keep the power valves on dirt bikes clean, but you will see on page 1 in the link that when using H1R the motor ran 15, 20 degrees hotter than other oils,,,
what ever LOL
