Default OMP with TT Pro-61?

Have a TT Pro-61 just lying around and have tried to search the forums if anyone has used this engine but couldn't seem to find any. Would this engine fly any of the planes nicely?

I would actually prefer a monowing but this engine size is like borderline between those 46" to 48" and the 65" sizes. The 48" Katana GS ARF looks nice but I'd like to know if the engine will be fine on it.

Well power certainly won't be an issue, I've seen guys use motors up to Saito 91's.

The weight is 9 oz greater. Now a lot of people will come in and say that it will be a flying brick ... others will say that it will be fine and has been done many times.

If you are not very particular, the .61 should not kill the Kat. The wing loading is light to begin with and will still give you a great flying/fun flying plane and will still have 3D capability. You'll also have more power to make sure you have the extra added edge.

Now the OMP Edge has some more sq in (about 30) on the wing and would lower the wing loading per sq in slightly.

You certainly have an "inbetween" engine. Problem with 60 size motors is the manufacturers haven't caught up with the power to weight technology of the .46 brand motors. Given the fact that pretty much all 60 size motors are the same cases as the 90s, most designs go from the 46 size to the 90 size in order to take advantage of the extra power. There have been many 46 size planes outfitted with 60 motors and most of the top runners including the 47" Edge, Yak, and 48" katana certainly have plenty of wing area to support the extra weight. Currently there are two models out there (60 size Mojo, and Kat 70) specifically suited for the oddball 60s folks have paying around. Both are bigger and heavier than a typical 46 size plane but perform very well with 60. I'd love to set you up with an OMP but them are the facts!
