Default Bogs down during acceleration

I have a Traxxas Nitro Rustler with a TRX Pro .15 engine that seems to bog down when I accelerate. I have tried to set the mixture all different ways, tried a couple different fuels, new glow plugs, looked for air leaks, changed fuel lines and checked the piston and liner for compression! It does it at about half throttle and sometimes dies. Ican't see any difference when I lean or richen the fuel mixture. Also I can't seem to tell if I am too lean or too rich. Anyone ever run into this? What did you find? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

From what you describe, it seems to me that you are too "lean". Turn the main needle counterclockwise in increments of 1/8 of a turn and checking each adjustment with a "run". I'm curious. How did you check "...the piston and liner for compression!"

Your clutch might be engaging too early too. I would drill a single holein each individual shoe and try it then. Do not make a big hole, just a very small one. If it still seems to bog try to holes in it. I did this with my maxx and love the diffrence!

Tag: Does it do it when warm AND cold? If so, then it is a tuning problem or a clutch problem. As far as tuning goes, check for air leaks around the carb and backplate, leaking fuel tanks, lines, etc... If it only happens when warm, then you probably need a new piston/sleeve. I have had them wear out from use. When the engine warms (maybe only a minute or two of running) it will bog-down and die when trying to accelerate. The reason for this is because the sleeve expands more than the piston and you lose your compression. Spin the engine over by hand without the glow plug in when it is cold and then do it later when it is warm. It should feel about the same (except for race .21's). If you don't have that "tight" feeling when it's warm, then it's time to fix the engine. You can either buy a new piston and sleeve, or send your old parts out and get them "squeezed" which will bring them back to life!

I would say that you are running it too rich, that used to happen to me with my traxxas T-Maxx.

Tag: Seems like you are still stuck with that age-old question: Is it too rich or too lean? I see that you checked for air bubbles in the lines. Hace you tried a different type of Glow Plug? Try a hotter plug and a lower % of nitro (20% or less) and see what happens. Another thing to check is the fuel tank pressure line. Pull the line off of the tuned pipe and blow in it. You should see the fuel move out of the tank towards the carb. I have seen stuff plug the fitting several times. Also check the fitting coming out of the fuel tank to the carb. Make sure it is 100% clear. Too many times, a little piece of plastic from the fuel tank will plug the fitting leading to a lot of time wasted tuning for nothing!
