Trx 2.5 touble
I own a t-maxx 2.5 and i really like the engine on it but about a month ago the engine started to play up. It kept stalling so i thought that the piston had wornen out since it has had quite a lot of running. So i changed the piston and sleeve and also brought a new cooling head for it. As i started trying to run the engine in, it started to get the same peoblems as it did before i replased the piston. Its got so bad now that as soon as i take the glow stick off the engine stalls. If i leave the glow stick on for about 2 minits i can get the engine to run for about a minit befor it cuts out. I have tryed different fule and different tuning setting but there was no change. I have also taken the engine and carb apart again but i could find nothing wrong with it. I have been in this hobby now for about 5 years so i no these are not just "brake in pains". I think it might be down to loss of compression but i cant work out why because i have changed all these parts: Cooling head, Glow plug and gasket, Head gasket, piston and sleeve, the fule i have been using.
Somebody please help me with this problem its driving me MAD[:@] !!!!!!!!!

RE: Trx 2.5 touble
oops kind of got that symptom though but leaving the glow stick on for that long isn't good. maybe you didn't get a good seal on the back plate? maybe bad fuel? you know it is getting hummid outside. fuel filter cloged? bad o-ring on fuel tank? hmmmmmmmmm

i know whats wrong for sure i just had the same thing happen..
your one way bearing on the rear crank shaft for the starter is frozzen up.
it trys to start some but will not run and you spend all day trying everything you can tink of but nothing helps....................it sucks huh.........lol
THE FIX..............
just remove the backing plate with the starter motor on it and clean the bearing with brake cleaner and put some 30wt motor oil on the one way then spin it a few times and reinstall.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
also sometimes the bearing will not grab the shaft and it just spins and will not start . just do the samething and it will be fine.
the bearing is just picky....
we talked to traxxas and they said the same thing .........
hope this helps
