Default Ajusting torue rod for ailerons

I have a extra 300 ARF .28 . I set up the throws today and noticed for aerobatic flying the ailerons have to move 5/16 up and down. Its it normal to cut balsa away from the torque rod in order to get it to move further up and down ?

Thanks

Yes, That's normal. Don't be afraid to cut more than you need. It's more important not to have any drag on the servo. Cut so you have 3/8 in. travel either way without the servo hooked up.
