Default Swordfish flying wires

Just finishing my 26 " electric Swordfish . Anyone have a good way of doing the flying and landing wires. Plain old thread does't have the look I want.Thread does'nt show up very well. The originals had a grey black look to them . Appreciate any of your good techniques Bill

You can get some fine stainless steel fishing "leader line" at the tackle shop.

Elastic cord or thread works well where the wires are not structrual. Sewing (yardage?) shops carry the stuff. Walmart has some, although you can find a better selection of color and diameter elsewhere. Some is even made flat, although it would probably flap in the breeze.

Do a Google search on "elastic thread" to see what it is if you are not familiar.

Have you checked out the lighter weight braided dacron fishing lines? That stuff has the advantage of being easy to apply and tie, with almost no tendency to stretch. Just paint or maybe dye or use Magic Marker to color it.
