Maiden on the GS 54o 80"
Flew the Edge today with the YS 140 all i can say is WOW this plane made a averager pilot who has never flown Profiles look good. I was hovering after 5 minutes with no problem and it was a blast to fly. I love the way the 140 on Heli Wildcat 30% performs , hovers at less than 1/2 throttle and just stays put on hovers doesnt fall back or tip to the left or right, simply awesome . Actually the cg is a little nose heavy with the YS everyone said it would be hard to balance on the ARF with the YS , not so in fact i might add a little tail weight , a couple ozs at the most. The plane lands better than a trainer it just sits off the deck until you want to bring it down to the deck.

Great to hear you maidened and like the plane! It really does fly light, doesn't it. I was completely impressed with the plane at Joe Nall 2003 and that is why I built the kit that fall. More reports with that YS.

I have had and been using the Ys Motors for years. I love gassers to and purchased the MVVS 2.15 originally for this bird but decided to put the YS 140 sport on it after watching some viddeo of the edge on one of the members of the Profile Brotherhood site. I run a APC 18/6 wide blade. Using WIldcat Heli mix 30% .Rpms on this prop are around 9500 static. There is nothing like the sound of the ys on this plane hovering at 1/2 throttle , you can really hear the motor working and the guys at the field are quite impressed with the performance of this motor and several members flew the plane yesterday as well and one member is going to order the arf Yak 65 " today and going to mount a YS 110 on it.

Way cool. The YS 4-strokes are certainly way more power than anything in their class. It's amazing that the YS 1.4 puts out probably as much or more power as the OS 160! Amazing beast.
