Default Trailer question

Hi Chip.

I recently saw a picture of your trailer and noticed that you have the spare tire mounted in the rear of the trailer near the roof. I am thinking of doing the same thing to reduce my hitch weight a bit, but am unsure of how to secure the tire. Are you using some sort of bracket, or just a large carriage bolt throug the trailer wall/frame rail?

If a bracket, where could I get one?

If just a bolt through the trailer wall, is the trailer wall reinforced somehow? Have there been any problems with the weight of the tire pulling on the bolt or bolts and dimpling the outside skin of the trailer?

Thanks in advance.

Jim

Default RE: Trailer question

Contact interstate trailers, through my web site and they can probably get you the bracket like is used in my trailer. I really like it mounted there as it is out of the way completely.
