Default 80" Cap-BGX-1 OK?

I came into the ownership of a Lanier 80" Cap 232. I was wondering if the BGX-1 would power this plane nicely? I have this engine and would like to use it as opposed to getting a gasser. Any help would be appreciated.

I agree, to save yourself some grief and give you a better midrange, get a cline regulator. Something propwise like a 20x8 or 20x10 Menz should work well, ran my BGX with a 20x10 moki prop and liked it. Keep the plane light.

What model of Cline regulator did you use. I have never used a regulator so any info would be helpful.

http://www.billsroom.com/pcfs/fuelsysdesc.htm, they are a little pricey @ $60, but trust me its worth it because of the headaches you will have of the BGX-1 midrange without it, plus you can put the fuel tank on the cg. IMO, I would get the moki 20x10 prop for the motor, it loves it. can get it from franktiano.com, they should have some left, if not menz s 20x10 works well too.

I have had several BGX-1's. If you use LARGE fuel line you will never have any of the common problems with it!

I have a BGX-1 3500 on my GP Patty Wagstaff Extra 300, WS=78", and it pulls it around quite well. I use a Perry pump on mine; works well and is a bit less expensive that a Cline regulator.
