Cool video race cars
Now this looks fun! This billed as the Pocono Indy Car Race. They are working on an "official" event like Quickie for US. I can see these popping up at a lot of clubs. Check this out.

BTW these are profile aircraft mods.

That looks like a hoot of a time. Guess you'd have to have regulations as far as size of aircraft (car), engine size, prop choice, tank size. etc.
Hmm. very interesting. I think my 65" yak would clean them up though..... ahhaaahahah

RE: Cool video race cars
Well now I'm actually working on the official event with the owners of Flying Thingz and hope to make it a National competition like Quickie. This will get a lot of young RC pilots wanting to come to the field to be pit crews and join in.
Examples on pit stops are changing wheels, prop, glow plug, refuel. Unlimited engine mods as long as you have .46 size motor. This gives people opportunity to hop up their motors to unlimited bounds.
Going to make it more about fun then die hard competition. But with plenty of bragging rights!
Any suggestions would be apprecitated and considered!

How about an endurance race with a standard 8oz tank. Do something like 100 laps where they would have to fuel up about 4 times during the whole race. This will separate the men from the boys.

RE: Cool video race cars
Which field is it at in the Pocono's? i will be going up to the Pocono's August 6th and 7th for an IMAC, in Milford, and i remember goign to Shawnee for another one, that's coming up too.
We are going to be getting 5 indy cars for our show team, and making 4 of them look like Nextel cup cars, and one like a cop, and when the 4 are racing, the cop goes up and pulls one down.
Should be fun,
Id like to make it to the air race thing, but i need an indy car first lol
Later,
Scott

Wow, that looks really exciting. I am really interested, except there is probably for me to race against in the Detroit area. Trends are slow to catch on here.
On another token, would this Indy Racer make a good float conversion? The side fairing is already there, so I'd think just attach the floats to the bottom of the side fairing.
