Is Marutaka still making kits? I understood that they went out of business some years ago. Can anyone suggest where to go to find what kits are available, if any?

Yes, Marutaka is still going. Check this site to see the offerings. It is in German but sure you will find the salient details.

Hobby Lobby, has the old Royal line (manufactured by Marutaka).

Hobby Barn in Arizona imports the Marutaka line. And accessories. Take a look at their website.
