OFNA ultra LX pro?
hey, i was just reading a review on the ultra LX pro with the force .25 in a magazine. they said it was a very nice buggy, but steering was weak. for 300 bucks, it seems like a very good deal.
are these any good in competition? any other buggies around the same price?

OFNA ultra LX pro?
I had one......Sold it....
My observations......
Stub Axles......HA HA HA!!!!! How many can you bend in an afternoon......
OFNA 25 motor......Holy Crap Batman!!!! Better eat your Wheaties, do your wrist curls, and wear protective hand gear. If you do get one, call OFNA and ask for the optional head shim.....this will help, but still not completely fix the compression.....One option, use a starter box, and you will no longer have your forearms cramp up, and you won't bleed all over you buggy anymore!
A little tough to dial in(motor), but when right....WOW!!! Lots of power at hand!
As with most RTR's, BEFORE you run it, take EVERY screw out and Blue Loctite them....otherwise you will be at the hardware store instead of the track!
The Blazer Sport AM radio is a very nice unit....responsive and simple.
The steering servo is slow and weak.....this would be one thing-- if I kept the Buggy-- I would have changed....
Frankly I beat the crap out of it, and other than the stub axles(too small....BAD ofna, Bad Ofna!)I didn't break a thing. Ran almost 3/4 of a gallon thru it.....
An excellent starter buggy.

my 2 Cents..
not worth it imo... unless you are just runing it across the lawn and not jumping it. every person I've known that has had an LX pro hated it. The axles bend and snap constantly, the ofna .25 is a hit or miss engines (usually a miss) and the diffs are pretty weak. I'd save up a bit more money and get a hyper 7. stronger 8mm hardened axles, much newer design, strong diffs and a much more reliable hyper 4 port or even better 8 port hyper .21 on the PBS version.

OFNA ultra LX pro?
haha, might be kinda slow on this reply, but what the heck. anywho, what are you guys talking about 'snaping axles' or 'axles suck.' you gotta be kidding me, ive beat the living daylights out of my lx pro, and so far, have had very minor problems.
1. steering servo sucks! i got half way through the first run, and it died on me. crappy crappy crappy. no biggy.
2. bend the front shock tower. maybe 2mm back, nothing big at all. havent even bothered fixing it. its not enough for anyone to care.
3. rtr radios suck. after about 3/4 of a gallon, my radio started getting pretty glitchy. the throttle servo would sit there and jump around for no reason. swapped that out for my jr system.
thats about it. two of these problems are what i expect from a rtr nitro. the other one is what i expect from my driving styles. ive jumped this thing over many things, and im not kidding when i say it will fly 15 feet and land nicely, if you want it to. it can also do some sweet cartwheels.
buy a starter box as soon as you get it? ill admit, it would be nice. however, ive had it for a few months now, and still no starter box. i tend to use grampi's once in a while when we run together, but i dont use it because i cant pull start it. mostly lazyness, and lack of experience.
all in all, i love this thing. i was afraid i would wish i had bought an mt, but not the case. my diffs are still together, and no broken axles.

I also have an lx pro and love it. It is a little hard to tune but sweet once dialed in. As far as axles bending or breaking I bent mine after the radio glitched went full throttle and crashed into the neighbors trailer it broke both front shocks the front bulkhead and bent one axle shaft I told ofna about the problem they gave me all the parts to fix it and covered it under warranty including new receiver battery holder which has had some problems. other than the one time it has been great but like everyone says buy a steering servo the first day.

RE: OFNA ultra LX pro?
I know what you mean about the Ofna Blazer radio getting jumpy on the throttle. When the throttle jumps around an 1/8th of an inch it's a big deal! I am looking to replace my radio system now...
