Default 2 Paralell power suplies - longer run time or trouble?

Was thinking of hooking up 2 batery packs to drive the reciver in the car and i was wondering if anyone has tried it. I used a voltmeter and the voltage remains the sam (naturaly in paralell) but the amps is hovering around 19,5 so not sure what to make of it since for a standard 4 cell 1.5 volt batery its around 6 - 7 and for my 5 cell pack its around 9. So now 2 X 5 cells is 18+ but still 6.4V.

Ideas?

Im gona use a servo split connector so the wiring is cool.

that is ok , you are just making a longer run time . They made a kit doing this for the LST. as long as you put them in paralle and not in series , you will be ok.l
