fabric/paint removal Pica Waco
I bought an old in the bones Pica Waco from a friend that had been stripped to recover and looks like it had fabric/dope or paint and my problem is that there are edges of fabric under paint on the fillets at the tail feathers and I don't know what to do with it to prepare it for an iron on covering. Should I use some type of light paint remover to take the paint and fabric off? If I do I dont' know if it will leave behind good wood to sand to cover. Of course I could just add some and sand it to shape. Any ideas would be helpful before I started making a mess of this classic that need to be finished and able to fly again. Also, since I don't know how old it is and seems to be very old, should I worry about reglueing any of the joints? Does CA ever lose any of it's strength?

What are you planning on recovering the Waco with? I would just sand what you have down smooth. If it didn`t come off with the old covering it is probably pretty well stuck.
As to the glue, just check the present glue joints and see how they hold.

RE: fabric/paint removal Pica Waco
Thanks, Skylane. I'm planning on covering with either monokote or Ultra. I was just worried about what's there and the heat from the iron and sticking. I guess I could try it and if it sticks I'm good to go. In other words I didn't think I should try to put covering on the old paint but if it works it works and if not then on to plan b.
