Best landing Gear for Katana 46 V2???
Hey guys I just got my new Katana 46 V2 and I got to maiden it today and first flight went really well a little bit nose heavy,,, but 2nd flight not too good!!!
I took off and took it straight up and about 40ft up my engine quit so it came back straight down!!! and I panckaked it didn't glide as much as I though it would and my wire LG broke the block where the holes for the wires are,,,, I already fixed it but I don't think it's going to last,,, I guess I was lucky nothing else broke.
So what do you guys think???? different LG???? cause I don't really want to open the area where the LG mounts and fix that cause it's not that big the wire just moves back and forth but you can't even see a crack on the ouside it's like the hole on the inside got bigger or something!!!![:@]

Just curious, do you know what the landing gear weighs, less wheels/wheel collars?
Maybe a pair of profile gear from TNT would do the trick?
By the way which engine did you put on it?

I'm not sure what's the weight of the stock LG maybe 4 to 5 oz I guess it's not much and I'm not concerned about the weight my problem now it's that I screw them up the first day!!!! welll I guess that saved my fuselafe from braking!!!
I'm using an OS 50SX I finnaly maiden it again today and had a lot of fun with this plane after 2 minutes of flying I was already hovering on the deck!!! I did some catch landings and hand lunch!!! man you can fly this thing anywhere!!!!
I just finished uploadding the video we took today flying this plane I'll post the link here as soon as it's ready!!!

RE: Best landing Gear for Katana 46 V2???
dry weights at 5lb even with the Os 50 and stock muffler,, I have metal gear servos all arroundand a standard sise servo for the throttle and a big 6volt 2000 mah battery so all that make it heavier I guess with standard plastic gear servos and a ni-cd 4.8 1000 mah battery and maybe a mini servo for the throttle it might save close to 1/2 lb I'm not sure.
at my weight it will hover about 1/2 throttle and pull out like a rocket,, I'm running 15% omega and APC 12.25 x 4.75'' prop I think this is the best prop for this motor!!!

For the 40 size profiles the gear most people use is the tetherite krazy-legs. Not sure if anyone has retrofit these to the kat46 yet but I'm sure it can be done. Might be easier to cut out where you busted the block and put in a new hardwood block for the wire gear.

I was looking at them at your site...
How wide are they where they meet the fuselage??? will they be as wide as the 4 holes that hold the wire LG on the katana???,, if they were that wide I guess I could drill them and use the same hole on the fuse!!!
How long or tall are they????
Thanks

The two most popular profile gear are teh tetherite and the Jeff Williams gear. Each has slightly different dimensions and I'm sure either would work just fine. Off the top of my head I can't give the exact dimensions but again they WILL work. The mounting holes are not predrilled so you can drill to match your fuse no problem.
