I'm not sure of what exactly you need but I'll just throw out some ideas. First make up a jig, getting everything aligned without it would be next to impossible. I used some foam sheets that I got from Home Depot, marked the distance between the booms and center pod on it and cutout the cross-sections shown on the planes. Please note that the two cross-sections for the booms shown on the plans are different, so pick one and mirror that cross-section for both. use a second foam sheet placed at the back of the booms to support them, Install the horizontal stab, this will maintain the distance between the booms at the rear. these foam sheets need to be securely attached to a flat surface because they need to support the plane while you measure from side to side making sure the alignment is correct, before drilling the holes through the center section mount blocks. Drill just far enough to place marks on the blocks in the booms then remove the center pod and finish drilling the holes. tap the hole in the boom mount blocks for the 1/4 x 20 bolts, here is a picture of what I'm trying to describe.

There are two sites that could assist this also.
One is at http://lbrannan__1.tripod.com/p38/ This guy is documenting the building of this bird.
The second is http://www.ziroliplans.com/hints_frameset.html
This is the site that documents and offers tips and forum on the building of the Ziroli products.
Good Luck,

I believe Larry's Tripod site has been replaced with a new site as he was having too many problems with Tripod

http://p-38.corpcomp.com/

I sent you a pic of the plans showing the location of the blocks in the booms
