Default Mounting HS 56s

I am building a T-Rex 450XL CCPM with Hitec HS-56HB servos for the front end. When mounted normally the servos arms hit the canopy. Is there a special way to mount them such as inside the frame rather than on the outside?

If anyone has a picture of these servos mounted, I would sure like to see it.

Default RE: Mounting HS 56s

I too am using the hs56 and had a clearance problem. I made a small thin spacer (a little less than one eight inch) out of light ply. I epoxyed it to the top of the servo mount tab. I mounted the servos from the inside. The servos feel rock solid in the frame. I also had to stretch the canopy a little bit. I carefully folded several paper towels and neatly laid them across the top of the frame and over the affected area. Then took a hair dryer and carefully heated the area. It doesnt take much heat at all. This somewhat reformed the canopy and I now have an extra half inch of clearance. The plastic windshield may be a little trickey to fit now but am sure it can be done. Good luck..........................
