Anyone have a recommendation for servos for monster trucks? I like the HiTec metal gear hi-torque servos that Tower has.

Are servos more universally compatible these days, or will I need to get a HiTec receiver too? If I get a HiTec receiver, can I still use the stock HPI TF-4 radio?
I'd like to eventually get an Airtronics radio..will a HiTec receiver be compatible assuming the frequencies are matched? Or will I end up having to switch electric gear again for the new radio?
Traditionally I have always used the same brand electrics as the radio I was using. Does it matter much?
Thanks!

A lot of the radio gear is mix and match now.
Hitec has 2 "flavors" of receiver. One works with Futaba or Hitec TX. The other works with JR/KO/Airtronics TX. I don'yt know which of these 2 HPI falss into.

Servos are all compatible. There is one exception. Older Airtronics servos have a different wire order at the plug end. This can be easily corrected if you need to use an Airtronics servo with a different brand receiver. Look at these threads for more info.
