Default What shock oil weight to use?

Question, What is the best shock oil weight to use? I drive in some pretty ruff areas. Do I want a thinner oil or a thicker oil? Can any one help with this question?

Default shock oil

You did not give much information such as what kind of car, tires, more details on the surface you are running on.

Basically, the lighter the shock oil the faster the tires will respond to the surface, meaning more traction.
Thicker shock oil increases the time for the rebound and thus less traction.

Regardless of the surface just drop or go up in weight to increase or decrease traction respectively.

Keep in mind that ride height also plays a role in the recipe.
So you have Tires, ride height, shock oil, chassis weight, and also diff action that act on traction. There are a few others as well but those are the basic areas.

One more needed variables on all these are springs.

I use trinity 70 wt oil for a prep race track. Prep meaning vht sprayed, debris blown, etc. Seems to be working for me.
