Mounting Template for MVVS 45 IRS
Hi Guys:
I just purchased a MVVS 45 IRS and was wondering two things:
1) How much would it cost to replace the case with a magnesium one and is this something I could do myself; and
2) Does anyone have a mounting template already made up?
Thanks

Tim,
The 45IRS engine is no longer available in aluminium. I.e. they are now all magnesium case engines.
With MVVS engines, parts are not very expensive, as they are in most Japanese engines, for example.
Building an engine from all its parts will cost about 1.2 times the cost of the complete engine.
It will only cost you the price of the magnesium crankcase itself and you can generally do it by yourself.

You can remove the rear cover and trace it to make yourself a template. I have a cover off I could scan and e-mail to you, but I would be worried about distortions in the size causing you problems.
