RE: On the beach!
I'm goin to orange beach in a couple of weeks. I don't know if I'm takin the S-maxx or the Revo. Prob the S-maxx with paddle tires! Just gotta clean it good.....as in takin it apart and cleaning individual parts one at a time.

Just make sure the truck is clean BEFORE you go to the beach with it. This will make it much much easier to clean after. Otherwise, oily residues will hold the sand on the entire truck. Also, make sure you have a really good air filter... possibly with an addition foam element on the outside of it. I love driving my Tmaxx in the sand dunes. Only problem I've ever had is the occassional bearing wearing out faster. Goodluck and bring a camera!

I guess the sand thing is just fun. I can take the truck apart and put it back together in a day easily. I'll just wait for it to rain and there isn't anything else to do, but until then keep it sprayed down with wd-40 and nitro blast. Bearings don't cost that much and are easy to replace. I run a foam pre-filter on the outside of the motor saver air filter. Thats about the best you can do.

i would bring some extra spur gears, cuz when the sand bits get inside of the teeth ur clutch bell will grind em' away....well unless you have a metal one.....lol

yep, definately try to avoid the salt water. if you do hit water, tear the engine apart asap. in fact you may want to tear it apart in cleanup anyway, especially if ocean spray is in the air. the sand's not bad, but can contain small amounts of salt. WD40 (or whatever) your metal parts after-run.
salt is the devil - i met him and he aint nice.

only thing i got to addd, is one could use a Paper Coffee Filter over the reg air filter to try to catch as small of particles as possible. twist tie it on.

The beach is fun, but sand gets EVERYWHERE in your truck. [:@] Paddle tires definitely give you traction, but I also ran the stock tires too. They did very well, actually a bit of wheel spin kept the wheelies down as opposed to the paddle tires. Watch for sand around the glow plug, don't open it up w/o a thorough blow-out.
