Default Need advice on new r/c off-roader

Hey guy's

Currently have a cen mt and i'm looking for something faster with way better handling and stopping power. it's for messin on the beach, in fields and maybe in a quarry with coarse sand. Wondering what would be the best to get. The fella who i got the mt mainly deals with cen and xtm. Anybody have any idea's on what would be the best to get?

He was suggesting the xmt Mammoth st or the xmt xlb when i was enquiring about the Genesis .46 and telling him what i wanted to do with it.

Any ideas

Cheers,
Marcus

I have the XTM Mammoth ST, but the ST Pro Kit will be released soon. R9 has it and he also owns the X-Terminator 2. The regular Mammoth ST definately would need the www.dadders.net braces right away to prevent any chassis flex. But, on the flip side, there's an immense amount of custom upgrades available for the Mammoth ST too. (www.rcvisions.net and bigairproducts.com) I really like mine and I see it as having good potential for a racer. I would go onto xtm.globalhobby.com and look at the Mammoth and Mammoth ST Forum, they will tell you EVERYTHING you need to know. Overall, I'd say that XTM is under-rated and people kind of under look them. THe only thing would be parts, but if your friend deals XTM, then that's great cuz you can get parts right away. Go onto XTM's forums and see what you can do. They specialize in XTM, but I would say go for it! If you have any further questions, ask, I'll answer to the best of my ability.

I have the Genesis myself for almost a year now. IT is defintely the best MT out there. The 46 engine has unbelieveable amount of torque and with the massive truck size and wheel, i can roll over any other MT out there.

The XTM is a good truck too but its just like any other MT.. nothing special about it

The only problem with CEN and XTM is OEM and hop-ups can be a little hard to find.

Inverted, you are absolutely right. I have a Traxxas Revo and love it very much. My LHS stocks every possible replacement part for it. They also stock many upgrade parts too. I highly recommend a Revo for racing AND bashing.

Another possiblity that won't let you down one bit would be an LST/LST2. It comes with a great radio and if you talk to the LST guys, they just have amazing trucks and will tell you everything you need to know. They race, bash, they do it all. If you're just doing strictly bashing, I would definately get the Savage. For racing I would either choose the LST or the Revo, but for bashing the Savage. Regarding the Revo, BAMF can tell you a lot, and if you're still interested in the ST, feel free to ask questions. Good luck!

If he stocks CEN products, have you considered the Nemesis 7.7 ?

If you haven't i'd highly reccommend having a look at that monster. It's pretty similar to the genesis but geared more towards racing than bashing, although having said that it makes a damn fine basher. From memory it has several of the genesis hop-ups as standard, and i think it's a two speed rather than a three, but it can easily be upgraded to the 3 speed 'box. (No i don't own one, but my best buddy does and i bash with it often[sm=devious.gif])

The torque from that brute of an engine is enormous, and the smile you can obtain from driving over a savage/revo/anything else has to be tried to be believed

Again, well worth a look.
