If you have the stock 4.6 filter that has the double filter it is just fine. What pipe do you have now?

Any pipe tuned for torque will fit your needs. I'm running a Racer's Edge 1/8th torque pipe and it works great. The truck popped wheelies before the pipe, but it just raises the front up that much easier now-almost effortlessly, even at part throttle with this pipe. I'm impressed. Pictures don't lie...check out my gallery for some proof.

The HPI ribbed pipe is also a good pipe for low end, although it's pretty loud.

I would roll with the HPI polished pipe that your truck came with or I would get the topend Jammin pipe. Both are proven to work great with that engine.

You really aren't going to get much better than the pipe and filter that came on your truck. I would spend the money elsewhere.

He's looking for low end power, so why would he want a top end pipe? [&:]
If he wants low end power, he's going to have to go with a low end pipe.

edit-The air filter he has is HPI's version of a Motor Saver, so it should be just as good as the real thing.

I had this pipe and it is indeed good. The one I have now is better (and much quieter) though.

I would still use the polished pipe if you want to run one made by HPI.

I missed the part about wanting more lowend power. Lowend torque usually isn't a problem with the 4.6 unless you are just expecting too much from it and running too tall of a gear ratio.

i have the savage 25 with a 4.6 and the pipe that came with the stock 25. the flat black pipe. i am running49 tooth spur and a 15 tooth clutch bell. i want more low end cuz i mostly use it in my yard and on jumps, so i dont have alot of room to gain speed. also, i like low end better then top end. the way modded trucks take off is sick! -thanks again

I run on a very small tight track and never get out of first gear and the HPI polished pipe that came with my 4.6SS works well. I have heard a lot of mixed emotions about the ribbed pipe and never ran one on my Savage but did run one on my MT and did not like it.

Then you most certainly want a low end pipe. Better get yourself a wheelie bar too because you're going to need it!

edit-when your 49T spur dies, replace it with a 52T..you'll help out that low end response with it.
