I think I heard the only way is to take a razor blade to the tire or something else like putting it in warm water and then the glue will sorta melt. I am not sure but I think these are right along the lines.

Boiling didn't work for me-I soaked them in acetone, worked like a charm but made the chrome peel off the rim. I didn't care though because they were trashed anyway

Acetone is a pretty good way of getting it off, but wheels are so cheap it's more trouble than it's worth.

Soaking them in acetone over night works fine. When i started off i thought that was hw everyone did it. Its so easy i cant se why people would replace there wheels.

If youi have the right kind of wheels then boiling them OR acetone will melt them easily.

Bake in oven at 350 degrees on wax paper for 7-10 mins. Boiling and acetone ruin rims.

As long as the rims aren't chromed you should be alright. I did it to two sets of rims one chromed one not, the chrome did peel off but didn't seem to effect the rim itself. The other set was white plastic stock rims and it didn't seem to hurt them at all.
