92" Edge first flight
Hi my Edge 540 hybrid has made his first flight in very windy conditions, it was hardly to fly.
Landing was very nice and very slow.
The MVVS58 hesitate sometimes in the transitions but he is not fully running in.
I hope next week to test this incredible airplane in less windy conditions so I can feel how it behave.
I post some pictures.

Yes, the Hybrid is like a GIANT, and I mean GIANT foamy! Very easy to fly, very forgiving and yet very manueverable like a foamy. If you want a giant funfly machine, this is it. Add smoke and you got a crowd pleaser.

RE: 92" Edge first flight
Hi Marzo,
I made a few flight's, the Edge is easy to fly very predictable.
But my engine suddenly quit several times (mvvs58 prosport), i can't find the reason why.
Emergency landings OK but maybe i run out of luck next time.
On the ground the engine runs fine on idle and high rpm.
Did you build the carburetor intake into the fuse, have you add air intake holes somewhere in the fuse?
Have you any suggestion.
greets

RE: 92" Edge first flight
Hi Gw,
I had the same problem with mine. It would quit after a few minutes of hovering. I ended up enlarging the exit hole for the air below the head. Don't be afraid to open it up a lot. Mine is now open straight across 1" in front of the spark plug. It hasn't quit on me since that mod. Now I can hover several minutes down low without worrying about a flame-out.
The only hole I added in the fuselage is a 1 " hole below the carb velocity stack. The choke works quickly, and I wanted a hole for the dripping fuel to exit the fuselage.
The only other modification I made was added upthrust. All incidences checked out O.K.,but it needed some added upthrust.
This is my favorite plane by far. If OMP offered this as an affordable ARF, or if more people would build this plane, many more fliers would find out about this unbelievable machine.

Man, if I designed every combo of plane folks wanted I would never sleep or have time to fly myself! If you want a Yak Hybrid my suggestion is take the Edge and build the wings with a leading edge taper by adjusting the rib locations. Not hard to do and the only changes you need for the wings are basically relocate the wing tube. You could even change the fuse shape without too much trouble being as the sides are all built up sheeting. Taper the wings, make the canopy look like the Yak 54, and the rest is the same! Make for a really cool custom build project......hint hint!
