OFNA Force 32
Is anyone running one of these right now? I am torm between the Force 32, Sure Fire 32 and the Collari 32. At least if someone is running this it helps me decide which one.
Also does anyone know the least expensive online place to buy the Forc from or the Sure Fire. Tower wants $154.95 for the Force, the Sure Fire best price on Ebay so far is $189.00...may as well spill the $202.00 for the Collari with roto-start.
Thanks in Advance
Les

RE: OFNA Force 32
Thanks Ben your right I should have put up a survey type post.
I made the decision based on price, sometimes one has to. Found the Force 32 at Johns Hobby on Ebay for $129.00 US dollars, the least expensive Sure Fire 32 I could find was $189.00 US. 60 Bucks American is 60 Bucks American, I'll take a chance LOL.

OFNA apparently makes the K4.6 for Savage and that seems to be a very very ruggid durable motor, lets hope they put some of that technology in the Force 32.

RE: OFNA Force 32
Ok so when your torn, have Mastercard will buy
I got a Force 32 for $129 American and reasonable shipping to Toronto Canada and a Sure Fire 32 for $180 and good shipping. The Axial 32's were too expensive anywhere I found them $229, for that price I can buy a Collari 32 with rotostart($202).
Cheers
I have an entire fleet LOL..Savage SS with a Collari .30...Savage SS 4.6...Monster GT(not here yet..used) and a Duratrax Warhead...I think I can find spots for 3 Big Blocks LOL.

I don't think Ofna makes the HPI .28 like you said earlier. Also, you keep mentioning money, but you also keep mentioning the Collari .32. By the time you buy the Collari, the pipe that it requires, and a couple of extra OWBs.... you could have bought a Novarossi .28 8 port.
The big Collaris are like the OS.30 in my opinion. They might be fine engines, but they are overpriced for what you get.
Why do you want a .32 anyway? Looking at your truck and how it's setup, I just don't get your motivation for going with an engine like that.

RE: OFNA Force 32
Im with Chronic on this one, you dont need a .32 unless you just want to be able to brag about the size of your engine. Yesterday i went out with 3 of my friends, the engines we were running were a picco .27, an sts .28, mach .28 and an os 30vg and i was very impressed by the sts. His truck was just crazy, in both low end and top speed. The best part was that he got it off ebay for 99$ buy it now while i paid almost 300$ for my picco, the os 30vg was also almost 300$ and the mach was a little over 200$ (Canadian dollars). If you do a search on this forum you will see that everybody who has this engine is very happy with it and you cant beat the price. Also your truck looks like its setup for on-road racing so top speed is what your looking for and you wont find it in a .32, all you'll find is crazy low end power that WILL flip your truck over more often than not. If money is not an issue i still think your better off with a .28 and you have a vast selection of .28 to choose from but you'll be hard pressed to find a better deal than the sts .28.

I was told Novarossi was HPI's engine supplier.
I personally wouldn't put a .32, a powerful Collari no less, in a otherwise stock Savage unless all you wanted to do was flip it over and destroy bodies and break stuff. It has too much power for the truck to handle without significant modifications to the rest of the truck. It needs a better chassis, center diff trans or at least a 3spd and better suspension and driveline components to be able to put all that power to the ground in a useable way. Stick with a .25 or .28 and you'll be much better off in the long run. You wouldn't stick a 540 Merlin with 650hp in a car without building up the rest of the car to handle that engine now would you? Why do the same with a RC? I was a big proponent of a .32 in a Savage until I saw one...what a joke. All the guy could do was wheelie it at times when it wasn't on its roof and at speed it was all over the place and usually ended up rolling and then the guy had to go running down the lot to go put it right side up...not my idea of fun or relaxation. This truck was all stock except for the engine/pipe, a metal spur, CVDs, and some Hot Bodies tires/wheels.
Edit-Oh yeah, 46U, I meant to say that OFNA wouldn't put their name on it if it wasn't a quality product.

RE: OFNA Force 32
The relationship between Nova and HPI is a mystery to me. Supposedly Nova helped with one or two of their engines, specifically a little on-road .12 smallblock.... but they don't have anything to do with the 4.6
The HPI .28 is a relative of the Axial.28. Decent engines at best, but they in no way compare to the Nova 8 port.

RE: OFNA Force 32
Thanks 46 U, I did like all the features of those LRP engines. Maybe I jumped too soon in what I was looking for. I kept thinking there is no replacement for displacement..too much time with 4000lb Cougar XR7's and ThunderBird Supercoupes.
Maybe I blew it. The nice thing is between my son(he;s 28) and myself we have 5 trucks right now. One is going to be sold with the original K46 HPI engine in it.
That still leaves one Savage SS 4.6 , a Monster GT and a Warehead to try the different engines in.
Cheers
