Default Novarossi N528XR on Revo question (what pipe?)

I want to get your guys input-

I recently picked up a EB modded nova 528XR from aaron at rcbggy shop.com (great guy).

I wanted to see what you guys thought about the pipe he recommended me to buy for the engine. a ofna 086

He originally was going to sell me a Mugen 1005 for it, said it was a great combo if not the best. The next day he said that he tried the engine with an ofna 086 pipe and it was a world of a difference, alot better. highly recommend the ofna 086 over the mugen 1005 & JP-2, I kinda want to believe him because why would he try and sell me the less expensive pipe (half the price as the mugen pipe).

Anyone have any experiences with both these pipes on a EB modded nova .28 (8 port). I'm looking to get max top end. trying to see how fast I can get a revo to go!

Please any input would be greatly appreciated, having a hard time believing him. The ofna 086 seems so much smaller too.

good question dude.. ive decided to run a side pipe to get all the power i can out of my 528xr, so that opens up alot more choices.
ive seen a tsais that claims to be for the bigger 25-32 sized motors, i wonder if they work? also vantage makes a similar pipe.
i just dont know who to believe....
right now i have a lst pipe on it, ill run it this weekend to see how it does. i like the lst and savage designs because it points the stinger down and has the pressure tap on top.
i hope someone chimes in who knows...

looks real nice!! Yes, definitely let us know. I'll let you know how I make out too. I heard from several people, carbon fiber pipes are no good. I'd like to try out the savage version WERKS pipe. I do have a savage ribbed pipe I'll try out. Strange the guy said to use the ofna 086. Its much smaller than the mugen 1005 & JP-2, must have something to do with it? Any one know???

Anyone with nova 528xr please post your pipe setup/results for revopqrs and I.

Hey I would like to see some videos of your truck with that motor on it. That thing must fly. how do you keep the wheels on the ground. So if anyone has a video please post or direct me to a video. Nice truck 1brent1

from what i know about pipes. more airspace=topend less airspace=bottomend. at some point in the middle you get squat and too much is very bad, too little and your engine wont run. with that being said if you tune an engine for max bottom end with a smaller pipe it will have awesome response across the power band but that band will be shorter. if combined with higher gears to keep from flipping it you should get a very responsive motor with a high top end. this is the only way i know of raising the top end without lowering the bottom end and responsiveness of the engine.
