Default Noob Question

I just bought a used Revo and wanted to re-build the rear shocks. I got the upper cap removed from the shock and drained the oil, but I can't seem to figure out how to remove the lower cap or go any furthur. What am I missing? I have the instructions from traxxas, but still couldn't do it....Please help....

I was able to get to it, thanks. But for the past hour, I'm trying to put back the rear right shock in it's place. The front doesn't like to go back in. I removed the gas tank for easy access, still no luck. The stell pivot doesn't fit in. Any tricks to do this?
