40% Carden 260 Tapered Ailerons
OK guys, I am at the process of cutting out the Aileron. I have decided to cut the taper to come out with the wing tip at 4 1/2" and the root at 6 1/2". My question, has anyone else decided to go this route and how did you handle the bevels ? What I mean is, did you just use the supplied 3/8" stock wood and adjust the bevel angle accordingly, or did a thicker piece of stock have to be selected to allow for the angle of the bevel on the plans ? If I go with the stock wood and lessen the bevels, will it be enough for 3D flying?
Thanks,
Thanks,

RE: 40% Carden 260 Tapered Ailerons
I used the 3/8" aileron leading edge on my 260 and had no problems, I get 32 degrees which is plenty for me. I could've sanded the bevels to get more but didn't want to as I'm only using 1" arms.
