HL Tiger/mato upgrades bang for the buck?
I was on the Mato website and it looks like it just makes sense to get the metal upgrade set with sprockets, tracks, and gearbox. I was going to order it and add the metal idler arms as well and just gut it and change it all right from the get-go. If I am just taking it apart anyway, is there anything non-electronic that really needs any work?
I was going to flip the mantlet too but Mato has some sort of upgrade barrell(no detail description). Is the barrel they have the proper length and still shoots?
The rest of the stuff just seems like a no-brainer...The sale prices now seem super cheap too!

Wow, I don't remember the prices being so low last week. I just ordered full metal track/idler/sprocket set, metal suspension set, metal gearbox assembled with motors, extra speaker, tow cables, upgraded barrel, spare crystals, and even the driver figure for $100 shipped!
I then added a Walker bulldog with the installed metal gearbox for my brother as a gift (and a moving target) Although he'll need to buy his own hop-ups. Pretty incredible.[8D]

The barrel he's selling has the mantlet flipped to the proper position but the barrel is still the original too short length. It's pretty easy to lengthen.
I have a wish list brewin' with Mato too. Just trying to decide on what I really NEED versus what I WANT!!!

wow that comment leaves a lot of 'local bar' smart remarks swimming in my head . Either way it can't hurt to have if my barrel gets stuck in the wrong place [sm=lol.gif]
Well I figured OK $200 max to spend on this for now (and I only needed half that) as it has not even left the living room yet! I work in auto sales and the last week of the year leaves me exactly 0.0 minutes to play until the 1st, although I run ebay sales so I do always have at least 5 forums running while working.... [8D]
I just got several of the new Cyber Hobby Wittmann Tiger kits that the modeling community is ga-ga about and I was so excited to work on them first week of Jan, but now this GIANT tiger is sitting around the house and I have tons of paint.....
