RE: The Shadow Project
Dez can you PM me a link to the chassis. Im interested in it. I find it a little over the top all you did is post a link to a "competitor" site and you got your post removed. Only reason I say this is I spend most of my time in the 18th scale forum and theres constantly links to one18th.com and they NEVER get deleted.

RE: The Shadow Project
Well took the Shadow out on the rocks today and crawler w/ my buddy who also has a BMVII.
Did pretty well, Climbs pretty good even w/ the slick condition we had after last nights rain.
Found a few things I need to adjust.
I need to gear it down a tooth or two, need to add a cell (only ran 7 today) and I need to add another shim to the rear axle as I had it slipping w/ the new project tires.
All in all, a pretty good debut, still need some more testing before I make my decision for the 07 season starts.
Enjoy the pics!

Aren't badlands mt tires.
Thanks for clarifying!

The 07 rules state that the maximum height of a tire "legal" for use on a 2.2 is 6 inches.
Well I looked and no one made a 6 inch 2.2 so I made my own.
Yes Badlands are a Maxx sized tire, but a small one as Max tires go, it's relatively narrow and it's height of 5.84 inch which brings it in under the legal limit!
I had a set of 2.2 Moabs that donated their sidewalls and some time and a good portion of IC2000 later, I had 2.2 Badlands!

ohh, now i get it, these are those killer tires you were talking about.
That is not only a great idea, they look sweet.
I assume they were good. How do they compare to the moabs?
Looks good dez!

RE: The Shadow Project
Nope, I just laid them into what looked to be the centered (and they run pretty true) and slowly glued them to the sidewall of the Badlands and then ran a bead of IC2000 all the way around it.
It's a fairly simple and straight forward mod.

RE: The Shadow Project
cool. i really like this chassis, after driving my sw2 for sometime i do see its flaws. Not that i dont like it, but i would like better cog, and better center ground clearance. I may just have to build another one

"It's an unobtainium composite titanium!" yep. just what i thought it was made of... 1/8 piano wire... give it a couple of tumbles and you will have to bend it back to shape......

Yep, thank you Mr. tensile strength expert.
And if by chance it does bend, I think I can afford to replace it!

RE: The Shadow Project
How about you get a clue!
"Unobtainium composite titanium" look it up!
It's called sarcasm! Look that up as well!
The chassis works great, it holds up fine, and like any other design, is susceptible to damage and repairable.
