JL F-15 gear door pistons & geometry
If anyone can post a picture showing the geometry of the gear door (nose & main) pistons fully open and closed, along with their anchor points, I would be eternally grateful.
Also what length of pistons ?
Thanks

Hi Todd,
Thanks for the pictures, they were a great help !
It didn't occur to me to do scale doors, wouldn't be too much extra work either.
Are you using a special sequencer to close the front 1/2 of the doors when the gear is down ?
Thanks,
Jules.

Jules,
Sequencer setup is a UP-2 with the UP-4 add on. UP-2 is doors closed with gear down, UP-4 allows you to select specific doors to remain open gear down. The UP-4 works off the UP-2 so no additional servo required. Aft nose gear door is simply pulled closed by the strut.

Todd:
Where did you get that setup to attach the strut door to the nose strut? It looks pretty simple with the elastic band attaching them. Is that an item you stock?
By the way, got the UP2 and UP4 valves from you and they are going in to the T45 this weekend. I will be calling to discuss best battery setup for this plane.
Thanks!
Woody

The small door on the nose leg is proving quite difficult to hinge.
There is a former very close to the back edge of the cut out that makes it awkward to fit a large offset hinge required to drop the door and clear the fuselage lip. Dremmel time ! I found this picture on RCU (credits to original poster):
