I don't have any pictures of the screws and tubes. But here is a closer veiw of the in side with some screws going thought the metal angles. for where the springs go though I just drilled a small hole though the metal, you can see them on the picture. to hold the L braces in place I drilled holes though the bottom and used pop rivits then sealed around it with RTV.

Jeff,

Sorry one more question (OK Likely I will have more LOL) is there a certain spot to drill in teh sides to mount the bolts you have in teh picture. So that they do not get in teh way of the suspension... I figure I can just look at the range of motion.

The bolts in the side are the one I used to replace broken axles. that the swing arms go on.

Ahhhh... I see.... GREAT IDEA... so multi purpose it is.....

I have barely used my tank... and well its fully appart so I have not experiences ANY breakage.... Once I upgrade my metal suspension do you recommend doing this to them all now... or simply wait till they break?

Also I have an idea for the rear idlers I thought I would share... based on other ideas and pictures shared with me....

I am going to use a piece of alluminum stock and bolt it in the center of the chasis.... then I will get two long shafts which will allow the mounting of the Idlers.... These shafts will be held by a set screw in the alum. block. On teh side of teh chasis I will glue a cut piece of Angle iron (similar to what you used) but with a hole to allow teh idler shaft to go through. Once I have done this I will post pictures!

Thanks Jeff!!

Hey Jeff,

What is that you have UNDER the angle iron? Looks like thin white foam. If so why?

THANKS!!!!

The metal was to lay flat but when I marked and drilled the hole for the axle screw it shifted, leaving a gap between the bottom of the hull and the angle brace. The white pease is a strip of plastic use as a shim.

Jeff,

When you remounted the mounts for the lower circuit board, did you screw them in place or simply glue them? What is RTV, I assume an Adhesive silicone is very acceptable.

Here is a picture of my work. Thanks for the idea. I used sheet plastic under teh angle iron to raise it up a little. I used 3/4 alum.

I used lock nuts and ss bolts to hold teh metal in place so that I can use the points, if needed later for mounting.

Aww, I was about to start a 'Tiki'
You can still do a 'Tiki'. The camouflage patterns on the tank in this thread are not the same as the patterns on Tiki.

If you are going to do a scale 'Tiki', take the time to get the patterns right. Lightly draw them on the tank with pencil and airbrush over them.
