FMS sim problems
Hi there,
I am trying to get FMS simulator working for win xp ,but all I get is large amounts of BSOD's and acces violation blabla.
Tried to update to the newest software, got even worse. While under win2k I got it running.
Anybody with same experience/solution to this problem?

RE: FMS sim problems
I have Win XP and got my copy of FMS from Caiman games online, i had a problem at first to.Make sure that you completly remove the old one, planes.scenes and all and reinstall the new bata version from Caiman. Then gather up your planes from the variuos web sites to build your collection back up. I installed it under Program Files in My Computer.
www.caiman.com (i think, i hope this helps that sure is a fun game... i mean simulator. LOL)

RE: FMS sim problems
I am having problems launching the Draganflyer model from the ground up. The only way I can fly is to perform a hand launch. Tried all kinds of mapping/configuration setting to no avail. Whenever, I initialize the simulator and I make sure the throttle is down, the DF makes the crash sound and just sits on the ground. Not sure whats going on?
I have a Hitec Laser 6 with the USB interface cable connected to my Win XP machine. I have installed FMS Version 2.0 Beta 7 along the DF models in the ZIP file from RC-TOYS (not the EXE version). Tried this on two different computers with the same results. The Laser 6 transmitter works fine with DF V Ti Pro so I know its not that. I used the switch mapping info in the README file that comes with the Zip files.
Any suggestions out there?

RE: FMS sim problems
I have the same issue and just hand launch it. I actually got the real thing off the ground tonight albeit for short periods of time. Rain has forced indoor flying which gives little room for error.

RE: FMS sim problems
OKay, I finally figured out the problem with my simulator. It turns out this was a software compatibility issue with the FMS simulator and the DF models I installed. There's a bit of confusion on which files to download on to your computer. In the FMS website, the Download page indicates that version 2.0 Beta 7 is the RECOMMENDED version to use. However, RCTOYS actually distributes Version 2.0 Alpha 8.5 with their product CD. At the same time, the DF models are distibuted both in a ZIP format and EXE installer from various webpages on the RCTOY website. Unfortunately, this bit of confusion does not indicate which file is more current and compatible with the latest FMS simulator (EXE is the latest). So here's the official versions of the Draganflyer models and FMS simulator provided on the RCTOY simulator CD-ROM:
1) FMS fms2alpha85.exe [link=http://www.n.ethz.ch/student/mmoeller/fms/alpha/fms2alpha85.exe]LINK[/link]
2) RCToys DFModels.exe [link=http://www.rctoys.com/software/DFModels.exe]LINK[/link]
This solve all my problems!
