Default S/M 1/8 F/16 hydraulic gear

Hello

anyone know what oil should be used in the gear and how to correctly refill the oleos? I have a small oil leak on the nose gear and it is now completely "flat", It looks a bit different than the instructions shown on the SM website.

Thanks

Florent

I've always used silicone oil in oleos and the shocks and differentials of cars and buggies.

The oil for F-16 (1/8 )main strut is similar to RC car shock silicon oil, viscosity is #350. The oil for nose is RC car differential oil, viscosity is #10000. DO Not use petrol base oil, they will damage seal.

Ok thanks!

I've just bought a thicker oil (25k) which will hopefully cure the leak. The oleo is now refilled and the plane sits with a positive AoA, exactly what I wanted!

Being able to adjust the oleo action is really brilliant!
Thanks

Florent
