Hello Guys
I would like to know what max RPM I should attain on a DA-100 using a Mezlik 27-10 with canister mufflers. Engine is already broke in.Thanks.

RE: DA-100 RPM
Hello Larry
Thanks for the info on the DA 100 RPM. We are checking a used one we got and we were getting 6130 r`s. we are about 300 feet above sea level. We checked the engine and looks real good inside plating on both cylinders looks great. We just wanted to see if it was in the ballpark. Talked to DA and they said from 5900 to 6300 Rpm with the Mezlik 27-10.Yours seems to be running great. Thanks again.

RE: DA-100 RPM
Hello Guys
Yes I expected more responses but I`m glad Larry helped. I realized that my best bet would be to call DA since at the time I looked at the thread I had no answers. Will continue looking at the engine and see if we can fine tune and get more R`s. Thanks.

RE: DA-100 RPM
you are running about right - leanin n squeezin may show a momentary high reading but heat will quickly lower that and mor heat will ruin it -
on the Mezlic 27x10 - you are in a static rpm range which is the norm. the 28x10 Mejzlic - is about same rpm
the numbers on the props mean that there is a number on the prop -that's it.

RE: DA-100 RPM
Hello Dick
We are aware that leaning the mixture too much is not a good idea. We have ducted the cowl and that has brought the temperature down. Now we will be leaning the mixture some but will watch engine temp to avoid hurting the engine. Thanks for your comment.

RE: DA-100 RPM
I have a feeling that a good many of the DA owners have figured out there's no "peak" rpm number for the engine itself. That number has far to many possible influences to list. Any number from 5,900 to 6,600 would be an accurate "peak" number depending on the installation and intended use.
Others have found that the highest rpm levels are often not the best for the type of performance they are seeking, and are therefore a poor method of comparing performance. Tune and load the engine for the desired application, and when it performs the way desired it is then correct, regardless of the rpm level.

RE: DA-100 RPM
havent run the set up you are looking for but here are a couple of others
Xoar 26-10 6600
Xoar 27-10 6300
VESS 27A 6300
VESS 27B 6100
all the above figures are rounded down and taken after flying for about 10-12 mins. on standard mufflers
The Vess 27A by far has the strongest pull out of any of the above, the 27B is the smoothest for general flying.
The Xoars aren't bad either, the VESS just work better for me.
The DA seems to be happier keeping the R's closer to the mid 6000 range than the lower 6000.

RE: DA-100 RPM
I've tached quite a few DA-100s running a Mejzlik 27x10 on stock in-cowl mufflers. All of them turned 6400-6600 rpm right out of the box. My WAG is that your cans are knocking down the power a little.

good info those those who needing some idea. You know how you and I are when it comes to props we stay very well educated
I have a 27A and Zoar to test out on my BME that was coverted over to a BME-111. They used my jugs and pistons and the rest of the motor is the BME-115 Extreme. That is the one you saw me fly in the Ultimate. Man I suppose I will fly around at 1/4 throttle now and uplines at 1/2 throttle. I have to hack the heck out of the cowl on this deal. I ended up with a bad iginition so I have not have a chance to run the motor since I got it back last week. Like I said I am running into a string of having to order stuff to smooth everything out. The new house only has 9' ceiling unlike the 12' I had in the house in G-ville. I have a new reed coming for the 3W she dead sticked on me the last time I had her out. I pulled everything off the Dave Patrick to run this Extreme Flight Yak so DP is also parked she has been good to me for about 7 years. I will have to come across deals to get her back up and running as long as the Yak stays Airborne....

RE: DA-100 RPM
Hello Guys
Thanks for the reply to our query on the DA-100. I made a mistake the mufflers are not canister mufflers. The ones we have are the stock mufflers. As we see it there is quite a range on the high rpm noted by you guys. We just wanted to know if our engine was in the ballpark in performance. Thanks again.
