gasoline proof sealant?

RTV copper silicone in a tube. I don't think you can immerse it in gas for extended periods of time, but it's good for carb gaskets and muffler gaskets.

I would recommend a 2 cycle crankcase sealant such as Permatex Motoseal, Hondabond or any comparable product available from a good motorcycle shop.
Thanks,

Neoprene can be submersed in Gasoline for very long periods of time without breaking down. And there is such a thing as Neoprene Sealant, that can be purchased in either one or two part (mix) containers ranging in quantities, and not terribly expensive. There are also flexible adhesives designed to repair neoprene, I believe one is called aquaseal, but I cannot speak confidently about this product being submersed in gasoline. I guess this all depends on what exactly you are wanting to do?
-for gasoline tubing in tanks and to feed the engine, I don't believe neoprene can be beat
-for a sealant around the exterior of tank stoppers, muffler gaskets, or whatever you might dream up, the Permatex Ultra Copper is good, and readily available. Neoprene Sealant would work, but definitely not as readily available.
-for fuel/gas proofing surfaces like firewalls...etc, your standard polyester or epoxy based finishing resins work great

G38 crankcases have no gasket, are sealed with some grey stuff...I think Three Bond 1104 is the same thing, it works on cases with no gasket and never leaks...It's a thick grey liquid that really sticks and never gets brittle...

You can use AC240B2 or AC240B1/2. this is manufactured by Advanced Chemistry & technology. It, or the PRC equivalent is available at any aviation (1:1 Aircraft) supply house. Or you can contact Aviall in Dallas. We use this sealant for all immersable aviation fuel. It works excellent for regular gas & oil as well.
