Default U.S. Engines 35 or 41 ?

I have an engine given to me by my father in law, He passed away a few years ago and it has been sitting ever since. He told me it was U.S. engines 35 or 41. I cant find anything on it to identify it for sure. I just acquired a Giant stinger, already set up for a 41. I assume the dimensions are the same, will there be much difference in power. The engine runs good, I just wish I had some way of knowing what it is, Im afraid the 35 might not be enough power? Any ideas?, Thanks

The serial number on the engine might give it away. The early Quadra 40s had two piston rings but the newer ones, and the US41 have a single, like the Q(US)35. If the Stinger is set up for the 41, the 35 will probably be OK. Not as much power, but it is close. It will spin an 18x8 prop like the 40 will spin an 18x10.

You should have a good time with it in either case.

The serial # does determine the CC size, ie., 41***** is a 41cc, the first 2 numbers are the size of the eng. I had sent a email to U.S. Engines with the same Q, and they confirmed this to be positive in IDing the eng. size.
