main motor binding.
Hi, I have been looking at my cp pro while waiting for some new blades to arrive and found a problem. I go to spin the rotor but when it reaches a certain spot on the main gear it binds. The teeth on the gear and the pinion look okay but I notice the gap between the pinion and the gear changes slightly and seem to get out of alignment at the place it binds during rotation. I have kind of noticed this before but it is much worse now, is this a sign of a bent shaft or is there something else I should look at? Thanks.

RE: main motor binding.
Sportsman,
Good observation, I think what you are seeing is the main gear is not perfectly round. When it comes to the high spot it binds..
Some options,, get a new main gear,, get a file and carefully file down the teeth where it's binding, and thirdly, readjust your gear mesh a couple thousandsth of an inch. (Cut 2 strips of paper,(computer paper works great), about 4 or 5 inches long and about the width of the pinion gear.. Loosen the main motor, pull it back a tad, place the 2 strips of paper between the pinion gear and main gear.. Push the motor firmly against the main gear and tight screws down... This isn't a fix for the problem, just a way to get around your binding problem..Also, lubricate the gears with some light il.... Oh,,,, take the paper out...
See Picture.....

Sportsman67,
Anytime, Love to help others, I've got a good knowledge base of the Blade series, but don't have all the answers...
