O.K. , after reading all the posts in the gas forum I'm almost ready to fly my first gas plane and I have a couple questions. The first pertains to the gas tank. I have a tank with the gas compatable stopper and fuel line inside the tank but boy is the line stiff. When I turn the tank upside down the klunker doesn't flop to the top but only goes about 1/2 way. Do they make a heavy klunker for gas or do you gas guys have another fix for this? My second question is what is the best, resonable priced, gas tank and pump set up? And finally, I am using a Lightened Zenoah 62 that is slightly used and broke in. What is a good fuel oil mixture for it?

Use neoprene tubing on the clunk. Plumb the rest of it in tygon.

Get a 1 gallon can from Home Depot and buy a hand crank pump from Hanger 9. Plumb it. Cost ya $15 for the can and the pump.

I always change out my gas tubing (Aerotrend easy flex) in my gas tanks every season. Both Tygon and Aerotrend get stiff over a relatively short period of time. I recently discovered the felt filter clunks (Walbro #125-527). These are larger and quite a bit heavier than the standard and heavy duty Hobby Shop( Dubro/Sullivan) variety clunks and work very well and filter the fuel as an added bonus. Some people swear by neoprene fuel tubing for gas engines but I haven't tried it myself. A non flexible fuel pickup line in the tank is not a good thing.

Go here: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5534754/tm.htm, look at the first page of the post, about half way down. There's a picture and part number for a large heavy clunk with filter that works regardless of how stiff the line is.

2nd page of the gas engine forum here in RC Universe. If you got here you can get there. The link did not work for me either but scroll down to the thread about what people are using for gas filters. In that thread there will be a lot of discussion that will be useful to you, and pictures of parts, with manufacturer part numers that will solve your tubing/clunk problem and keep your engine clean.

It only requires a couple of extra clicks of the mouse so it should not be too much effort. I can only lead the horse to the water...
