Default Weathering.

Hi guys,

Im pretty new to scale building/flying.
I have almost finished a 81" spitfire and its looking good after the winter building. But i was just wondering how i can re create all those amazing weathering effects that i see on lots of scale models ??

Also any tips on how to re create the smoke effects from the exhaust and along the fuselage.
Many thanks on this as i feel it will complete the model, ....... if it works ill put some pics up,

Thanks again, Andy in sunny England.

PS please e mail me with your tips. [email protected]

Welcome to RCU Andy. [sm=shades_smile.gif]

I suggest checking out Tom Pierce's website for his SBD Dauntless. He very thoroughly documented the build, as well as the finishing. As he says: "I accumulated most of these techniques in years of IPMS competition (plastic scale modelling) and they helped me win a lot of competitions."

Hope this helps! Use the drop-down menu to look for the weathering sections.

I almost forgot that he has done the same for his Fw-190, so check this page out too!

Yes, its about a 3 hour drive from my college and 4 hours from home. Also, two of my best college friends are from there! [sm=regular_smile.gif]

Hey thanks mate, ill go and have a look.
I looked at Tom Pearces setion and was really helpful, all i have done so far is put some oil streaks and dirty marks around the most used panels. Its really transformed the model .
