Default revo spur

will i notice any difference if i go from the stock 38t spur to a 36t or 40t?

Short answer...Yes. You will notice a big difference switching between spur gears. Keep in mind, however, that you will need to adjust your shift point every time you change to a different size spur or clutch bell. The larger Spurs will give you more torque and quick accelleration. The smaller spurs will give you more top speed and less accelleration. Have fun experimenting. I run the 16 x 40 or 16 x 38 combo.

You will noticed a pretty big diff. changing the gearing on it. the bigger the spur gear the more low end the truck will have. (this will take away some top speed tho.)

The smaller the spur gear the faster it will be in top end.(also taking away some low end)

if you do change it you will probably have to tune your shift point accordingly.

i am getting an os.18 tm, what do you guys recommend for bashing and maybe a race or two. which is better for wheelies and what kind of speed would i see from them.

wheelys would mean you would need better acceleration, so like Bronco and i said, go with a bigger spur. the 40 tooth should suit you well. Just make sure you adjust your shifting point or your truck will over-rev.

you've got some good advice so far, spurs are cheap. buy em and try em! see what you like!
