RE: j-3 cub giant
Is that the EVO motor? I have heard (no personal experience) that the EVO's have some sort of plastic limiter on the needles which makes them hard to tune. It is definitely a needle issue. Get to a club and get some help. Someone with more engine experience than me will be able to help you. Also, try posting on the glow engine forum, they can definitely walk you through it.
I am building a H9 J-3 Cub .40 size on floats. All I have to do is install the floats, hope to fly it this weekend!
