We got some really good batteries from the LHS and they usually last about 15 minutes with a fair amount of high speed running with a 9 year old at the wheel. The batteries were 40 or so per. Be sure you get a good charger, there is a huge difference between the batteries I charge on my new charger and the piece of junk that came with the trucks.

Same batteries on my older junk charger might last 5 minutes or so at the same pace.

I personally use the Elite 4500 cells, and think they are good for the money. I get great runtimes with my S-600 motors too. As for a charger I use a Duratrax Piranha (the digital one). It's cheap and gets the job done.

You need at least 2 batteries adn they should be no smaller than 3000mah. The more mah the longer it will run. You might be better off getting a nitro truck. By the time you get an emaxx, batteries, charger it will be almost as much. Check out the Nitro Stampede. They are a good price.
