So before you go off and start name calling....maybe you should do a little more research.

RE: Crawling REVO or T-Maxx......
An "electric t-maxx" is known to informed RCers as an EMAXX. Isn't j1001's post EXACTLY the kind of post that the originator of this thread is talking about. I got rid of both of my "electric t-maxx" because I prefer the smell and power of nitro and didn't like spending $140 a pair for batteries(they do work good now for my EZ starts and roto starts). I'd like to try rock crawling with one or 2 of my 16 nitro trucks.
I find this to be a profound statement too. I don't understand why the time would have to be scaled for the formula to be correct.

nitro rock crawling is kinda waste.. i mean you could have a electric t-maxx do the same damage as a nitro t-maxx if you really set it up right.. plus rock crawling takes time to get over the rock and your nitro would just burn away fast.

Ok, you cant scale speed cause you can't scale time

Keep it civil guys.
I think rock crawling with a nitro truck would be a pretty big challenge. Our clutches don't really give precise throttle control at low speeds, and i would think that would be pretty important. I think it would also be hell on the clutch, as already said.
But then again, a few tanks of nitro and a few replacement clutches are cheaper than putting together an electric crawler. If it's still fun, even with the downsides, why not?

of my old t is set up for the crawlin' competes WELL or in terms u would understand it kicks donkey. i have 15"of travel with imex swamps on it. and to solve the clutch prob i "roughened up the inside of the clutch bell to give it more grab and weakend the spring just enough to make it engage with the slightest bit of increase in throtle i bu a custom restearing mod in ag (ffa or metal shop witch ever u perfer) to hell keep me on course better imo nitro is gonna own crawlin' in days to come just because of the sheer excitement and smell of fuel BURNIN lectric guys dont need to be hatin on us nitro fools cause we WILL ATTRAC MORE PEOPLE hopefully u know y (its cause we are LOUD) so keepp your fuel clean and your wheels planted HARD
p.s. grip losing torq in ur electric will screw u in crawlin the goal is to keep traction not lose it

If you want to go crawling, you can buy TLT-1 kit and start there.
Here are a few links
www.rccrawler.com
Kit - $69 after 10 coupon www.hobbypeople.net
Associated waterproof ESC - $36 http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXKYX5&P=7
55 T lathe -$19 http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXKUG5&P=ML
HPI Wheels - $7 X 2 http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXRD76&P=7
Moab Tires - $15 X 2 http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXLDK4&P=ML
Futaba Radio and 2 servos - $48 http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...=LXASX3**&P=ML
Links and Braces - $67 http://cgi.ebay.com/Axle-brace-mount...QQcmdZViewItem
Wheel Wideners - $32 http://cgi.ebay.com/43220-Tobee-Craf...QQcmdZViewItem
That will get you a descent crawler, you could also get an aftermarket chassis, stampede trans, etc if you want to get very serious.
If you want 4 wheels steering you need a $10 Y adapter for the servos.
All total you are at $315 so over $100 less than a new maxx or revo, certainly will not have the speed, not even close, but it will be a crawler. I have both a 3.3 max and a TLT crawler. Both are fun but totally different ways.
