Here is the story.

I am building a 27% pitts 12.

I constructed the flyingwires/wing braces using the supplied hardware.

It consists of thin cable and control rod ends (like you would use on 2-56 threaded rod).
The pin goes into a hole in an L shaped piece of flat spring steel mounted to the wing.

The problem is they don't hold. The control rod ends just are not designed for constant tension.

Even fully pinned and locked (using rubber tubing over the fork) I had one pull out when I was testing the CG.
Put a nice hole in the covering[:@]

Any ideas of a better way to do it.

Thanks for the help but all of those systems use clevises.

The clevises are what is failing with the current system.

Anyone seen a system that doesn't use clevises?

Then again maybe the supplied clevises are crud.
